Program Note

I composed Two songs for mezzo-soprano and guitar for the Bowers Fader Duo in 2017. Stephen Crane’s poem “Places among the stars” captivated me with its lyricism and vivid imagery; his “Three little birds,” on the other hand, stood out because of its lightheartedness (unusual in Crane’s poetry). These two songs may be performed in either order, or individually.
